Matt Monday’s ‘Devils’ Video Will Open Your Eyes To Racism & Hate

On the heels of the unfortunate situation happening in his hometown, Matt Monday knew this was the time to release his visual.

This body of work had already been produced and edited but Matt Monday and his team were waiting on a specific time.

They had discussed releasing it earlier in the year but for some reason decided to wait.

As many of us have heard throughout the years “Everything happens for a reason” that very statement holds truth to this release.

None of us knew that an evening in June an incident would sweep the nation off its feet and leave us speechless. It would leave us questioning “What is going on in the world?” and “Where do we go from here?”.

That moment has brought us to today. As this is a controversial visual, its also very artistic and will open up your eyes in a different way to the hate that we are exposed to everyday and some of the hate that some of us (perhaps not even realizing) participate in daily.

The official single cover has caused quite the stir as its an image of an African American male draped in a kente cloth klansmen hood.

As the image is very powerful, thought provoking and some may argue beautifully twisted it without a doubt stops you for a second to really think about what is happening in our world today.

When asked about the creation of ‘Devils’ Matt Monday states “Devils is a look into a world where the understood racial roles have been completely reversed.

I wanted to create something that removed the racial aspect of color and focused more on the actually act of hatred.”
