Comprised of long-time BFFs Emily Nejad & Maggie Kubley, Celine Neon is a colorfully bombastic and theatrical duo that prides itself on being just as exciting offstage as it is onstage.

The Chicago’s fearless upcoming grime-pop duo has teamed up with the Chicago Tribune’s Red Eye for the premiere of their latest video single, a stripped down version of Elliphant and MØ’s ode to friendship, “One More”. Infused with an acoustic, summery groove, the recording presents a nice change of pace from their usual gritty, electro-pop aesthetic. Directed by Matt Hooks, the visual opts for a warm, “lazy Sunday” hanging-with-your-best-friend vibe.
In a statement to RedEye, Nejad said of the cover, “We’re huge fans of Elliphant and MØ, and creating this cover seemed like the perfect way kick off our summer.” Kubley added, “We wanted to do the complete opposite of everything we’ve released so far. There’s nothing quite like doing a stripped down version of an incredible song, with just vox and guitar.”
