Lyricist Deca is looking to continue the platform of intellectual lyricism as he releases his new single and video “Skyward”.

It seems that conscious rap is far in between today. Thank goodness for rappers like Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole, who level the plain field and gives us hope that consciousness still exists.

Literally diving into a world of stop-motion animation with animator Steven Mertens, he brings his song to life visually and musically, immersing his viewers into his subtle, yet complex world. The end result is 3 minutes of magic, an oasis for those looking for an escape from today’s empty lyrics and selfish one-liners. “Skyward” embraces both the old and the new, and Deca’s devotion to artistic immersion is quickly proving to pay dividends as he continues his career.
